So this weekend marks the start of the 2014 nottsdj wedding calendar, after a quick hibernation, where i’ve spent some time getting a new setup together, as well as testing out some new toys at my clubnight at the rescue rooms, we’re all set with a couple of weddings at swancar farm in trowell, including one on valentines day. After dropping down there last year with the new bose PA system to test out its suitability, these will be the first gigs i’ve done at the venue where they are actually in use. After a summer of testing it as various smaller venues to get used to it and test it’s limitations, I’m now completely comfortable of its suitability in a larger venue like swancar. It should also give me the opportunity to get a bunch of quality photos to update the website with!
Speaking of which, the site recently got hacked due to a security flaw in the back-end software. Whilst nothing bad happened (no private/client information is stored on the site), the resulting hack seriously hit my google search rankings due to hidden pharma-spam links embedded on the site. Thanks to the guys at google adwords though, they alerted me to the issue quite quickly, so i was able to rectify it soon after. I’ve spent the last few weeks working on setting up a new system for the site which will mean i can manage all of my websites from a single place and keep them updated easier, so they are less likely to get hit with a similar attack in future!
One of the problems with moving the site over to the new setup is that some links and images may not work correctly. I’ll be going through the site over the next couple of weeks to get everything updated and working properly, as well as adding/updating a load of photos in the gallery areas. Please bear with me, and if you have any questions in the meantime, or wish to view some more photos, either visit the facebook page, or contact me directly, and i will send some more photos to you directly.
This year so far involves plenty of familiar favourites (Swancar being one of them) as well as some new venues (to me) including The Priest House Hotel, Castle Donington and Ruddington Grange as well as some more gigs further afield. The summer months are already filling up quickly, so make sure you get your enquiry/booking in ASAP to avoid disappointment!
